Embracing the Future:
POWERING BITCOIN AND A VILLAGE WITH CLEAN ENERGY IN SENEGAL
A sustainable solution can empower the community and enable advanced technologies such as bitcoin mining.
Problem Statement:
Energy access in rural Senegal is limited, with reliance on costly, polluting diesel generators affecting education, healthcare, and business development.
Key Issues:
- Energy scarcity hampers essential services and growth.
- Diesel generators are expensive and environmentally harmful.
- Urgent need for clean, sustainable energy solutions.
Our Mission:
Deliver 24/7 reliable renewable energy through a solar park and
battery storage, powering Bitcoin mining and supporting a local village.
Solar Park Capacity
- Solar Park Capacity 6 MWp
- Leveraging Senegal’s abundant sunlight to generate clean, renewable energy for long-term sustainability.
BESS Capacity
- 20Mwh Battery Energy Storage System
- Ensures a reliable and stable energy supply, even during non -solar periods, for uninterrupted power access.
Bitcoin Mining Facility
- 285 HPC in a containerized solution
- Ensures flexible load and income generation
The Challenge
1. The Problem to Solve: Imagine a small rural community in Senegal. The people live without reliable electricity. They use expensive and polluting diesel generators. This affects their daily lives: children can’t study at night, hospitals lack functional equipment, and local businesses struggle.
2. An Innovative Solution: What if we could turn this difficult situation into an opportunity? Imagine a project that uses solar energy to provide clean, reliable electricity— while also creating new income streams through a revolutionary technology: Bitcoin mining.
Step 1: Clean Energy
3. Solar System Installation o We install a 6 MWp solar power plant that captures Senegal’s abundant sunlight. This energy is stored in 20 MWh battery systems (BESS), ensuring continuous power supply—even at night or during cloudy days.
4. Immediate Impact o With this clean energy, the entire village can now enjoy 24/7 electricity. Homes are lit, schools function better, and small businesses thrive.
Step 2: Turning Energy into Wealth
5. Bitcoin Mining o But that’s not all! The surplus energy (the energy not used by the village) powers special machines called ASIC miners. These machines solve complex mathematical problems to secure the Bitcoin network and earn Bitcoin rewards.
6. A Sustainable Economic Model o The Bitcoins are then sold on the market, generating steady revenue. These funds support maintenance of the solar system, expansion of electricity access to other villages, and even the creation of local jobs.
Step 3: Broader Impact
7. Reduction of CO₂ Emissions o By using only solar energy, we significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. This helps protect the environment and fight climate change.
8. Creating New Opportunities o The project also boosts local entrepreneurship. For example, a young entrepreneur can open a shop, welding workshop, or start a small factory powered by clean electricity. Conclusion: A Bright Future
9. A Replicable Model o This model can be replicated in other Senegalese villages and even in other African countries. Together, we can turn energy access into a driver of sustainable development and economic inclusion. o Final Visual: All elements are now connected – sun, solar panels, battery, lit village, mining center, arrows showing revenue and environmental impact.
